EEMGS / SEMA 2023 Meeting

The Spanish Environmental Mutagenesis and Genomics Society (SEMA) invites you to participate in the 51st congress of the European Environmental Mutagenesis and Genomics Society (EEMGS), that will take place with our 27th Scientific Meeting. The congress will be entitled «Back to the sunny seashore of genotoxicology: a dive into new developments and applications» and held in our beautiful city of Málaga (Spain) from May 15th to 18th, 2023.
The EEMGS/SEMA 2023 congress will be accompanied by a satellite workshop organised by HESI and focused on «Quantitative Interpretation of Genetic Toxicity Dose-response Data for Risk Assessment and Reg Decision-making«, that will take place on May 15th, just before the beginning of the congress.
After the many difficulties generated by the COVID-19 pandemic, the scientific committee is working hard to meet the challenge of returning to the normality of face-to-face meetings and the richness of direct contact with scientists of multiple nationalities. We are designing what we hope will be a very attractive scientific programme, both for academia and industry, that includes recent findings and current advances in mutagenesis and environmental genomics with a special dedication to applied and regulatory genotoxicity testing.

The pandemic due to COVID-19 has forced the whole world to look for alternatives for living together, completely transforming our lives. The Brazilian Association of Mutagenesis and Environmental Genomics (MutaGen-Brasil) also had to adjust, and held its last congress in 2021 in a 100% virtual format. However, the XVI Brazilian Congress of MutaGen-Brasil will once again be face-to-face and will take place for the first time in the city of Londrina (Paraná), between October 4th and 7th, 2023, at the Centro de Eventos at Aurora Shopping. Book this date in your calendar!
The congress will have as its central theme Disseminating knowledge for a sustainable world and will take place in a different and challenging scenario, since it will be our first face-to-face event since 2019 and in a new political and economic scenario in Brazil. This will be the Congress of the reunion.
We are working hard to offer you safety, warmth, high-level scientific content, and opportunities for everyone to update themselves scientifically, establish new partnerships and strengthen existing ones. To this end, we will have a Satellite event, three MutaGen Schools, two MutaGen Services, eight Conferences, twelve Symposiums and presentations of scientific papers in poster and oral format. Several national and international researchers are being contacted; many already confirmed. The full schedule will be available soon on this website.
I count on your presence and hope that this Congress will provide, in addition to the exchange of ideas and partnerships, a time to fraternize and embrace, because the time has finally come for us to meet again in person!!! We are waiting for you with open arms!
